Stewardship Campaign

Our church is presently engaged in a stewardship series, which is based on material drawn from a series called ‘Giving in Grace’ which was put together by the diocese of Liverpool.

The focus of the series is to encourage Christians to consider our responsibility to give generously and proportionately in response to all God has blessed us with, even in times of financial austerity. We will be looking at giving in terms of our time, our abilities, our money and our possessions, and how we are called to live in God’s economy of sharing and blessing, something that is radically different from the values of our materialistic society.

Using the story of Exodus, we will be looking at what we can draw from the journey that the Israelites experienced from Egypt into the desert, and the lessons they learnt which eventually led to their extravagant generosity when the people brought their gifts to the Tabernacle.

We are seeking to help people make the connection between a personal journey of faith and how that is reflected in practical terms by what we offer to God. We will also look at the need that is all around us, both in the inequalities of the world’s economic systems, and the ministry and mission needs of the church.

The series includes material to resource preaching, children’s work, and home study groups, all of which we will be making use.
